Attractions

Untertagstein Castle
  • The reformed village church is a listed building .
  • The Untertagstein Castle is privately owned and cannot be visited. It was probably founded around 1200 by the Lords of Masein. There was probably a connection with Obertagstein Castle . The castle came to different owners after 1322. The ruinous castle was lordly expanded in 1706 for Johannes Gaudenz Capol von Flims and passed to the von Buol-Berenberg family before 1742 . Badly damaged by fire in 1899, it was then rebuilt in a historicizing way by the current owner family of Planta .
