The Reformed Church in Masein at the foot of the Heinzenberg in Domleschg is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .

History and equipment

The church is first documented in 1441 under the patronage of St. Florian . In the Middle Ages it was a branch church of Hohenraiety . From 1731 to 1873 Masein had his own pastor, before that (since 1505) and then it was pastorized from Thusis. In 1525 Masein accepted the Reformation , so that the sacred building became a sermon church .

The church tower, left in natural stone, with a single-storey bell chamber wears a pointed helmet . The interior of the nave is covered with a coffered ceiling . A polygonal pulpit with a sound cover on the left and a three-prospect organ on the right flank the entrance to the choir , which is covered with a star vault and in the center of which is a baptismal font , which also functions as a communion table.

Church organization

The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden leads Masein as a parish, which is in close pastoral fellowship with Thusis and loosely with the Heinzenberg parishes and with Cazis within the colloquium III Nid dem Wald .
