British Journal of Sociology

The British Journal of Sociology (BJS; ISSN  0007-1315 ) is a journal of sociology published by the London School of Economics and Political Science .

It has been published quarterly since 1950 and covers all areas of theoretical and empirical sociology. In the first year, among others, Raymond Aron , Norbert Elias and Theodor Geiger published . Its current, three dozen strong International Advisory Panel brings together the international prominence of sociology from Ulrich Beck to Saskia Sassen .

In 2012, the journal had an Impact Factor of 1.684 and was 22nd out of 137  journals in the Social Science Citation Index in the Sociology category.
