Britské listy (German: British papers) is a Czech-language Internet daily newspaper for politics and culture, your own understanding of topics that are not reported in the Czech media. The newspaper is described as serious.

The portal was founded in July 1996 by the publicist Jan Čulík , who teaches at the University of Glasgow . He remained the editor-in-chief to this day, but since 2001 the publisher has been the Občanské sdružení Britské listy association .

Britské listy try specifically to convey international topics to the Czech reader. Newspapers often cited or translated in Britské listy include The Guardian , Independent , Washington Post , New York Times, and others. They often take a critical stance on the Czech media. While there were around 15,000 to 18,000 hits on the 30,000 to 50,000 pages a day in 2006, in 2011 there were around 82,530 hits a day. The portal is one of the most popular internet newspapers in the Czech Republic .
