Britta Reimers (born Britta Tietje on July 27, 1971 in Itzehoe ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and was a member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2014 .

Life

After graduating from the Kaiser-Karl-Schule high school , she completed her training as a farmer, followed by training as a state-certified agricultural economist. Britta Reimers lives with her husband and two children on a dairy cattle fodder farm in the Steinburg district .

Political

Britta Reimers has been a member of the FDP Kreis Steinburg since 2002. In 2005 she was elected to the state board of the FDP Schleswig-Holstein, in 2008 to the district council of the Steinburg district. In 2009, he was elected to number 12 on the FDP's federal list for the European elections and entered the European Parliament. Britta Reimers was a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and a deputy member of the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety . She was also a deputy member of the Special Committee on Political Challenges and Budgetary Means for a Sustainable European Union after 2013 (SURE) and in the Delegation for relations with Switzerland and Norway, in the EU-Iceland Joint Parliamentary Committee and in the European Parliamentary Committee Economic area (SINEEA). She lost her mandate in the 2014 European elections .

Memberships

Reimers was a member of the Europa-Union parliamentary group European Parliament . Britta Reimers was an active member of the volunteer fire brigade until she took up her mandate and is also active on a voluntary basis in rural areas.
