Brodowin Talks

The Brodowiner Talks were initiated in 1981 by Reimar Gilsenbach . Brodowin was the place of residence of Gilsenbach. The discussions were included in the program of the Society for Nature and Environment in the Kulturbund of the GDR in the following years . Gilsenbach invited writers and scientists to discuss urgent questions of nature and environmental protection . Michael Succow , one of the participants in these talks, recalled: "It was a movement that united bright minds who wanted to reform the GDR system." The Brodowin talks were held after 1989 under the direction of Lia Pirskawetz, an environmental writer who had already attended was involved in the first talks, continued under the name “Annual Meetings of Environmentally Committed Writers in Germany”.
