Harro Hess

Harro Hess (* 1935 ; † July 26, 2011 in Buckow ) was a German geologist , author and science journalist .

Life

Harro Hess, born in 1935, studied geology and received his doctorate in 1970. He worked at the Research Center for Soil Fertility Müncheberg in the field of pitting . As a science journalist, Hess worked for Radio DDR and was the first presenter of the environmental program “ OZON ” on East German television . After the political change in the GDR he became studio manager of the ORB in Frankfurt (Oder) .

Immediately after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Harro Hess became a member of the IADM, later its general secretary . The IADM looked after German-language media (state and non-state) newspapers, radio stations and TV stations all over the world and supplied them with the latest news from Germany , and later from all of Germany.
