Broken Saints

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Broken Saints is an award-winning series developed entirely in Flash and originally conceived as a pure Internet series. The idea comes from the three Canadians Brooke Burgess, Ian Kirby and Andrew West. They call their work a "cinematic novel", a kind of hybrid of comics and animation : as in comics, there are speech bubbles and the characters tend to be seen in static poses. The progression of the story is not shown in a series of consecutive images, but visualized with the help of animations and moving scene transitions. The music was composed by Tobias Tinker and Quentin Gray and with classical pieces a. a. mixed by Mozart. Sound effects have also been integrated to give the viewer a more rounded experience than a comic can.

BROKEN SAINTS tells the story of four strangers who have apocalyptic visions and at the same time are stranded in a dark city. Their fate, and the fate of humanity, seems to be mysteriously linked to a global satellite network. There are many dark secrets that they must reveal in order to know their destiny. "
