Bromme (racing car)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bromme was an American chassis manufacturer in monoposto racing cars in the 1950s.

Bromme racing cars were used in the AAA National Series . In 1951, Rodger Ward drove a Bromme with an Offenhauser engine at the Indianapolis 500 mile race , but it failed due to a defect in the oil pump. Travis "Spider" Webb drove a Bromme in Indianapolis in 1952 and 1954. He did not see the finish line either and had to retire both times due to technical defects. The same thing happened to Bob Scott in 1953, who was prematurely stopped by a leak in the oil pan.
