Bronsil Castle is first mentioned in a document around 1240, but this source does not contain a description of the structure. In 1449 and again in 1460 Richard Beauchamp , Treasurer of King Henry VI. , the royal permit to fortify his house (English: "License to Crenellate"). In 1644, during the English Civil War , the house was captured by the parliamentarian and burned down.

Little of the house has survived to this day, only the remains of the tower. However, part of it collapsed in 1990. Efforts are currently being made to secure the substance.
