The Order of Merit Bronze Lion was donated by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands in 1944 as an award for all military personnel in the armed forces who distinguished themselves through courageous or determined behavior towards the enemy in times of war. It can also be awarded to civilians and foreigners.

Appearance

The decoration is a bronze column cross . In the medallion it shows the Dutch lion. The back is smooth.

The award is worn on a blue and yellow striped ribbon on the left chest.

A corresponding silver Arabic number is attached to the ribbon for repeated awards .
