Brownfield (software development)
Brownfield is a household name in software development and was introduced by Hopkins and Jenkins in 2008. It describes problems that occur with newly developed software that have to be integrated into an existing software and architecture concept . In contrast to a completely new development (also called greenfield development), further development has to bow to structural framework conditions.
