Brandig is a Bavarian band that was founded in 2000 and plays folk music .

The band name “Brandig” means something like “hearty”, “ sociable”, “courage to be different” in Bavarian .

history

In 1980 Martin Wilhelm, Max Stephan, Josef Lechner, Peter Lechner and Franz Pichl founded the “Chiemgauer Alpenquintett”. Many years later the band was looking for new musical challenges and decided to add a drummer to their repertoire. Due to the joint work, the choice fell on the drummer of the band "Sauerkirsch", Peter Janotta.

In 2002 Brandig won the Alpine Grand Prix with Lach once .

TV appearances

In 2011 Brandig appeared in a series of Melodies of Hearts in Chiemgau with the song O zapfn .
