Brownies

A brownie (also known as Boston Brownie ) is a traditional cake used in American cuisine .

A batter with a little flour and cocoa powder is used to make it . For the Double Chocolate variant , crushed chocolate is also added. The dough is baked on a baking sheet or in a rectangular shape. After cooling, the cake is often coated with couverture or chocolate cream and cut into rectangular pieces. Known variants use cashews or pecans and raisins .

With the worldwide spread of the American way of life and cuisine, the cake became known in other regions and included in the range of restaurants and crafts.

There are also white brownies with white chocolate instead of brown.
