The Fountain of the City Founders ( Ukrainian композиція-фонтан засновникам Києва ) is a monument and a landmark on the Majdan Nesaleschnosti , the central square of the Ukrainian capital Kiev, inaugurated on November 21, 2001 .

The fountain is a memorial to the legendary founders of Kiev, Kyj, Shchek, Choriv and Lybiddie , who adorn the fountain as a group of sculptures. The sculptor was Ukrainian sculptor Anatoly Kushch , who was also the sculptor of the Independence Monument of Ukraine and the bronze sculpture of Archangel Michael on Lyadsky Gate . The architects were the Ukrainian Olexander Komarowskyj, Ruslan Kucharenko and O. Stukalow.
