Anatolij Wassylowytsch Kuschtsch (born November 30, 1945 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian sculptor .

biography

Anatolij Kuschtsch studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture until 1972 and worked there as a lecturer until 1973. From 1973 to 1977 he was a doctoral student at the Academy of Arts of the USSR and has since worked as a freelance sculptor.

Kushch is the sculptor of more than 65 monuments and monumental sculptures in Belarus, Poland, the USA and Ukraine, including the Independence Monument of Ukraine , the Lyadsky Gate and the Fountain of the City Founders on Majdan Nezaleschnosti , the central square of the Ukrainian capital Kiev. His works are in museums in Ukraine, Russia and other countries, as well as in private collections in the USA, Germany, Ukraine and Russia.

Honors

Kushch received a large number of honors, decorations and titles, including that of People's Artist of Ukraine . He is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine .

Kushch is the father of the artist Chrystyna Katrakis ( Христина Катракіс ), who was born in 1980 .
