The house Brunnerstraße 1, Halberstädter Straße 58, 58a is a listed building in the Magdeburg district of Sudenburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the north side of Halberstädter Strasse in a corner at the confluence of Brunnerstrasse and Halberstädter Strasse.

Architecture and history

The four-storey plastered house was built in 1936 for the client KH Paul Ludwig . The design of the house was simple and functional in the style of the construction period. Towards the corner there are rounded, clinkered corner logies, which are flanked on both sides by four narrow, upright rectangular windows. Shops were set up on the ground floor of the wing facing Halberstädter Straße.

Before the current building was built, the property belonged to the house at Halberstädter Strasse 60 to the west . It was built on with a farm building. Previous owners were the cattle dealer Julius Wernthal and the wine wholesaler Hermann Brunner , who was also the church elder of the cathedral parish .

The first users of the shops were the milk merchant Walter Krebs and the branch of a goods association. 1990 opened an office machine shop. The building was renovated at the end of 2006.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 81 969 . Presumably by mistake, the house is also listed at Halberstädter Straße 58, 58a with registration number 094 77081.

As the western end point of the row of houses extending to the east, the building is considered relevant in terms of urban planning.
