Bruno (Provost)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bruno (* around 1210; † around 1265) was the second provost of the Uetersen monastery .

Life

Bruno is first mentioned in 1248 in a document from the Uetersen monastery about Tangstedt with the title "praepositus". He was probably also the provost in Uetersen, who was named without a name in 1246 and 1256 . There was also the assumption that he was the named provost "Frater Adofus", who appears in a document dated August 31, 1256. Frater Adofus was the former Count Adolf IV. This assumption was refuted in 1970 by the Uetersen pastor Erwin Freytag. Bruno died probably around 1260, his successor was Provost Johannes .
