Hans Ferdinand Bubbe

Hans Ferdinand Bubbe , also Hans Friedrich Bubbe , (born April 9, 1873 in Hamburg-Eppendorf , † August 23, 1961 in Kronshagen ) was a German schoolboy and homeland researcher .

Life

He was born in Hamburg-Eppendorf and attended secondary school in Hamburg until 1888, then the preparatory institute in Barmstedt and the seminar school in Uetersen, after having previously run the single-class elementary school in Bevern . After working for several years at the Wyk auf Föhr and Bojum schools in fishing, he was a preparation teacher in Aabenraa . Afterwards Bubbe was a seminar teacher in Eckernförde and from 1912 to 1926 in Rendsburg . Until his retirement in 1934 he was the rector of the middle school in Uetersen, where he was best known as a schoolboy and local researcher.

During this time and even before that, Hans Ferdinand Bubbe wrote books with educational and historical content and published more than 20 writings on the history of the homeland. All of his works, and especially his home books by Uetersen, received excellent reviews in the professional world, which gave Bubbe the courage to start new work. The Uetersener Nachrichten wrote about him on his retirement in 1934: “ Our city must never forget the departing man that with the order and maintenance of the monastery archives he has provided archival material that has not yet been evaluated for the local historical scholarship and that he has a local museum in the city with rare, even unique testimonies from her and our monastery historical, economic and sociological development. A clever and knowledgeable man, the spirited friend of our monastery and our city, the connoisseur of its history, a schoolboy so freely open to life and upbringing, is now walking into the quiet of a 'refugium cum dignitate'. This by no means everyday personality is followed by warm wishes for a blessed evening in the Kronshagener Hasselkamp. "

Bubbe wrote about his own life in 1954: “For the rest, my life ran like the life of many creative people: a lot of joy, some disappointment, now and then a success, a lot of work, illness, worry, struggle and hardship, until me the worst loss of my life was the death of my dear wife after 57 years of hiking together ”.

Hans Ferdinand Bubbe died on August 23, 1961 in Kronshagen near Kiel.
