Brutality (English for "brutality") is a death metal band from Tampa , Florida ( USA ). She plays typical Florida death metal .
history
Brutality was founded in 1986 under the name Abomination . Due to the same name as Paul Speckmann's band Abomination, the name was changed to Darkness and shortly afterwards to Brutality .
It was only in 1993 that the band released their debut album Screams of Anguish on the German music label Nuclear Blast . After the third album In Mourning , Brutality lost their record deal and after some time and a brief split got a contract with the Polish label Still Dead Productions .
Shortly before the recordings for the fourth album at the end of 2004, Larry Sapp, alias "Mausolus Arguelles von Kiszka", died, after which the band split up.
Some of the former band members formed the band "Astaroth". After several years of absence, the band reformed in 2012. In January 2016 she released the album Sea Of Ignorance .
style
The MusikWoche wrote in 1994: "With hellish guitar riffs, brute rhythm thunderstorms and ominous, theatrical vocal interludes, Brutality [...] convinces every doubter of the true meaning of the band name." Bryan Hipp said in Rock Hard : "Our music is brutal and aggressive. “In connection with tempo changes you would therefore often compare her to Morbid Angel . “But we also have the ability to process pleasant parts, beautiful sounds and rhythms; at the same time we try to combine technique and speed with groove. "
