Brynjar Björn Gunnarsson (born October 16, 1975 in Reykjavík ) is a former Icelandic football player .

Career

Brynjar Gunnarsson started his career at KR Reykjavík in the youth team. He was brought to the first team of the capital club in 1997. In 1998 he moved to Norway to Vålerenga Oslo . Within Norway he was loaned to Moss FK . In 1999 he was sold to Sweden to Örgryte in Gothenburg . In 1999 he signed with Stoke City , which he stayed with for four years. Brynjar was under contract with Nottingham Forest in 2003/04 and at Watford FC in 2004/05 . He has been playing for Reading FC since the beginning of the 2005/06 season .

Brynjar played 74 times for the Icelandic national soccer team .
