Bou Hassoun , actually Abu al-Hasan Abu Hasun Ali ben Muhammad ( Arabic أبو الحسن علي بن محمد, DMG Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad , calledأبو حسون / Abū Ḥassūn orبو حسون / Bū Ḥassūn ; † 1554 ), was regent of the Moroccan dynasty of the Ouattasids (1524–1554).

Under Abu l-Abbas Ahmad (1524–1549), the Ouattasids continued to lose influence over the Portuguese , marabouts , brotherhoods and especially the Saadians in the south. However, his uncle Bou Hassoun, as an energetic regent, managed to form an alliance with religious brotherhoods and the Ottomans and to stop the Saadians from advancing north. Because of the threat, a peace was even made with Portugal . However, Abu l-Abbas Ahmad was captured during his campaign against the Saadians in 1527. It was only through the cession of Meknes that Bou Hassoun was able to obtain the release of his nephew in 1547. Despite all his efforts, he was unable to prevent the Saadians from conquering Fez in 1549 .

Bou Hassoun initially fled to Spain and even came to the German Empire to persuade Charles V to intervene in Morocco. When he later came to Algiers , however, he found support from the Ottomans. So Bou Hassoun was able to conquer Fez in 1554 and defeat the Saadians. However, he fell against the Saadians under Muhammad ech-Cheikh that same year .
