Book block
The book block consists of the printed , folded , glue-bound or thread-sewn and trimmed individual leaves - the layers - of a book . The first / top page of the book block can be the title page , the dirty or front title or also a copper title .
Before that, the layers were gathered ( collated ) in the bookbinding shop . To complete the book or the brochure , you hang the book block in a book cover or in a book cover . This is how the book block is connected to the cover .
The components of the book block are:
- the printed and glued or thread-sewn paper
- the reinforcement material
- the headband
- the intent
- the backing
- the bookmark
