View of part of the Budersand from the harbor

The Budersand is a dune on the southeast coast of the island of Sylt in the eastern part of the village of Hörnum . Today, at 32 meters high, it is the highest point on the island's southern spit and the second highest dune on Sylt and has served as a natural navigation mark for centuries. From 1765 to about 1785 was a house in the dunes at Budersand that in the then uninhabited southern part of the island for salvaging flotsam served, but soon by hostile Amrumern and Rantumern was dragged. Today the "Golfclub Budersand" and the "Hotel Budersand" are in the immediate vicinity of the dune.
