The lakes consist of the Norra Bullaresjön and the Södra Bullaresjön and are connected by an approximately 1.2 kilometer long stream. As a result, the lakes are viewed as connected and are among the largest in the historic province. At the northernmost end of Norra Bullaresjön , the lake flows over the Enningdalsälven . This in turn flows into the Iddefjord , already on the Norwegian side .
