Bumfights

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bumfights is a film series produced by Indecline Films . They are counted among the real life videos , the first part is considered one of the most famous independent films .

The concept behind the creators of the series was to pay homeless people in return, such as beer, food or money, in order to beat each other in front of the camera or to perform degrading or degrading activities. In addition to the fights, the actors tear out their teeth, have words such as "Bum Fights" tattooed on their foreheads or throw their heads through a window pane. The performer BlingBling consumes drugs in front of the camera or defecates on the sidewalk. In contrast to the first part, in the sequels (parts 2 to 4) there are hardly any fights among the homeless, but apparently home videos sent in by private individuals who often engage in real fights. In addition, various videos are played in which, similar to Jackass, dangerous or self-harming stunts and tests of courage are carried out.

The first part was produced by Indecline , whose slogan is: The world is worse than you think! . The Indecline logo shows a devil in a suit and tie. In total, Indecline has sold half a million DVDs (approximately $ 20 per DVD) worldwide.

The videos are controversial due to the depiction of violence. The sale of the videos is prohibited in many countries, including England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Canada. Mainly because of the portrayal of the Bum Hunter , a so-called homeless hunter , American television stations accused Indecline of having unleashed a wave of violence against the homeless. Finally, in 2005 the founders of “Indecline” were sentenced to six months in prison for organizing illegal fighting tournaments (Part 1). In 2006, Indecline sold the rights to "Bum Fights" after legal difficulties to another production company, which published the follow-up volumes 2, 3 and 4.
