Dissing + Weitling

Dissing + Weitling is an international design and architecture firm based in Copenhagen , Denmark . The office is known for designing notable bridges ranging from small pedestrian and cyclist bridges to some of the longest bridges in the world.

history

The namesake Hans Dissing (1926–1998) and Otto Weitling were both executive employees of Arne Jacobsen's office . After his death in 1971, they founded a community of architects to complete the work Jacobsen had begun. These projects included the Mainz town hall , a holiday home area on Fehmarn and the Danish embassy in London . In 1972 Dissing + Weitling won the tender for the IBM Center in Hamburg's City Nord and the North Rhine-Westphalia art collection in Düsseldorf .
