League of Democratic Socialists

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federation of Democratic Socialists (BDS) was an Austrian grouping of the former Carinthian Chamber of Labor President and Member of the National Council, Paul Truppe , which ran for the National Council election in 1959 . The Federation of Democratic Socialists received 2,190 votes or 0.05 percent in the election.

In addition to the troops, the former VdU activist Markus Sorger was also involved in the Association of Democratic Socialists. The Kärntner Volkszeitung , a party organ of the ÖVP , reported in 1956 that Troop advocated the establishment of production councils that were to be used in the factories alongside the works councils. He also advocated the establishment of income ceilings in the private sector. In addition, the BDS demanded extensive control of the economy and a share of the means of production for the workers. Troop was subsequently attacked by the SPÖ because of his high Chamber of Labor pension, which he received due to his forced retirement from the Chamber of Labor until he reached the pension limit.
