Peter Autengruber
Peter Autengruber (born January 16, 1958 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian historian and university professor .
education
Peter Autengruber studied history and journalism . His diploma thesis in 1985 dealt with small Austrian parties. In 1993 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on Josef Dobretsberger and the Democratic Union .
Career
Autengruber has been in the publishing industry since 1986. Until 1991 he worked at the Perlen-Reihe publishing house , from 1991 to 1995 he was head of the school book publisher Pichler in the publishing house of the ÖGB , from 1991 to 2015 head of the specialist book publisher and since then he has been the program manager there.
As a lecturer, he worked from 2009 to 2012 at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Vienna and since 2011 at the Institute for Contemporary History at the University of Vienna .
He published writings on, among other things, the history of Austrian political parties, Austrian trade union history and regional history in Vienna . His work Lexicon of Viennese Street Names , first published in 1995, is considered a standard work. He was a member of the Historians' Commission, which examined the historical significance of the namesake for Viennese street names from 2011 to 2013.
