Georg Pichler

Georg Pichler (born July 30, 1959 in Judenburg / Styria ) is an Austrian writer . He also uses the pseudonym Simon Walcher.

Life

After schools in Judenburg, Fohnsdorf and Graz, Georg Pichler completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter at the Leykam printing company in Graz. Meanwhile, he published the magazine for literature and rock music Schuwiduwa . He also worked as a journalist and attended German and philosophical lectures.

In 1980 Pichler began to work as a bookseller in Graz and Vienna and from 1986 he wrote reviews and essays for Die Presse . From 1992 to 1993 he headed the literature department at Forum Stadtpark .

Since 1994 he has been editor of the library magazine Bücherschau in Vienna. Today Pichler lives in Raglitz and Douala .
