Federal rabbit show

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Rabbit Show (mostly short: Bundesschau , abbreviation BS) is a breeding exhibition organized by the Central Association of German Racial Rabbit Breeders (ZDRK), the umbrella organization for all 149,000 racial rabbit breeders in Germany, with awards for purebred rabbits . Nowadays it takes place every two years, as does the Federal Rammlerschau (BRS), at which only male animals ( Rammler ) are shown and awarded.

history

The 1st German evaluation show for rabbits took place in 1885. With about 25,000 to about 35,000 rabbits (1987 in Stuttgart: 36,120), which takes place in Germany's national show today the largest rabbit show in the world.

The German champion of pedigree rabbit breeders is determined at the federal and federal ramming shows . The two shows are thus the nationwide highlights of a series of competitions that begin with the clubs' local shows and continue through the district, district and state shows to the federal exhibitions.

Various awards are presented at the shows, some in several levels or categories:

  • German champion, German runner-up, national winner
  • Great breeding prices
  • Medal of the Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection
  • Honorary awards from the state ministries responsible for agriculture in the area of the organizing state association
  • ZDRK badge
  • Badge of the European Association
  • Presidential medal

At the federal rabbit shows, state honorary awards, ZDRK honorary awards and regional association honorary awards are only given to breeding groups. Federal winners are awarded in advance as the highest prizes for individual animals at federal rabbit shows. The national winner is awarded to the best animal of his breed and color if 30 animals of the breed / color have been registered. If 60 or more animals of one breed / color are registered, two national winners will be awarded at the federal rabbit shows, whereby both sexes must be taken into account.

In 1885, a few years after the establishment of the first breed rabbit breeding association in Germany (1880), but before the “Association of German Rabbit Breeders” was founded (1892), the “1. German evaluation show for rabbits ”.
