Federal working group of self-administered horticultural companies
The Federal Association of Self- Administered Horticultural Companies (BASEG for short) was founded in 1986 as a merger of self-administered small businesses, primarily in gardening and landscaping . The association is a loose association of micro and small businesses in gardening and landscaping, gardening and landscape planners , employees from other businesses and individuals.
history
At the beginning of the 1980s, a number of companies were founded, mainly in the service sector ( printing , craft , conference centers) with the endeavor to develop more democratic than the familiar company structures and at the same time to do meaningful work. The founding was based on the hope that there can be non-hierarchical companies if all employees are involved in the company as partners . A large number of self-managed businesses developed from this . Only a few were able to reconcile the high human demands with the economic demands of the market .
aims
- Further development of democratic company structures
- Ecologically oriented garden design
- Professional exchange and further training
- Exchange of experiences on peripheral horticultural topics
- Practical exchange of experience
- Support of eligible initiatives through annual summer construction sites
organization
Two meetings take place every year ( winter BASEG , summer BASEG ). Decisions are generally made in plenary. The only fixed statute of the BaseG is the abdominal pain paragraph ("If someone has significant abdominal pain with a decision of the plenary, the decision must be reconsidered and a new resolution made.")
Winter BASEG
A four-day meeting takes place in February each year to exchange experiences and provide further training. In addition to specialist horticultural topics, questions relating to the establishment and management of a business, communication and other topics relating to operational processes are discussed. Dancing, singing and acting are also always on the program. The meetings are organized by changing preparation groups. People from BaseG or external specialists are invited as speakers. The meeting has been taking place in the AntoniQ conference center ( Mühlhausen ) since 2010 . Between 60 and 80 gardeners take part in the meetings.
Summer BASEG
Between 80 and 120 gardeners meet every year at the beginning of August to carry out a joint work project. Within a week, an outdoor facility will be designed for an initiative that the people from BaseG consider worthy of support. As a rule, these are projects by people whose social or ecological commitment has so far not been adequately recognized by public institutions whose goals are at least partially congruent with those of the BaseG. The project provides accommodation (often only tent sites), sanitary facilities and food from organic farming. It also bears the cost of all materials and construction machinery required. The BaseGers work for free. The youngsters who have traveled with them are looked after on children's construction sites.
