Federal report on research and innovation

The Federal Report on Research and Innovation , (short: BUFI , formerly only Federal Report on Research ) is the regular research report of the German Federal Government and the German states . It is published every two years and gives an overview of research policy and research programs of the German federal government and the German states. In addition to the programs, an overview of federal and state departmental research and the predominantly publicly funded university and non-university research in Germany is given. The report appears in a print version and an electronic version; there is also a short version. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is responsible for the preparation within the federal government .
