The BG & BRG Perchtoldsdorf is a federal high school and federal real high school in Perchtoldsdorf in Lower Austria .

history

The school was initially provisionally opened in September 1976 in the premises of the Perchtoldsdorf cultural center as a branch of the BG & BRG Keimgasse (Mödling) with four first classes. Two years later, the new building at Roseggergasse 2-4 could be moved into. In the 1979 school year, the school form "Neusprachliches Gymnasium" was added, and the Perchtoldsdorf branch became independent under the director Franz Dostal as a federal high school and a federal high school. Since the school location quickly became too small, six classes were added from 1980 to 1981. Further structural measures required the construction of the school library and two IT halls. To cope with the lack of space (there have been container and hiking classes for years), an expansion and general renovation are planned. For this purpose, an EU-wide architecture competition was announced, which was won by the architecture office "PLOV Architekten ZT GmbH". Construction is scheduled to begin in 2021 and completion in 2023. The estimated construction costs for the extension and the general renovation amount to 12.6 million euros; the net floor space (NRF) of the school will then be around 8,340 m².

In the 2018/2019 school year, 927 students (408 male, 519 female) were taught in 36 classes by a total of 90 teachers.

34 regular classes with internet access; Special classrooms for biology and environmental studies, chemistry, physics, two halls each for computer science, music education, art education, craft education, room for afternoon care; School library (approx. 13,000 media, 6 computers with Internet); Triple gym; Outdoor sports field (rented from the market town of Perchtoldsdorf). In September 2010, four container classes were set up in the area between the school building and Leonhardiberggasse.
