Ursula Poznanski
Ursula Poznanski (born October 30, 1968 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer . In 2011 she received the German Youth Literature Prize of the Youth Jury for her thriller Erebos .
Live and act
Ursula Poznanski grew up in Perchtoldsdorf and, after finishing high school in Roseggergasse, began successively studying Japanese studies , journalism , law and theater studies at the University of Vienna , none of which she completed. In 1996 she started working as an editor for a specialist medical publisher. In 2000, after the birth of her son, she took part in a script competition organized by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation with the script for a romantic comedy; however, she was not among the winners. In 2001 her first manuscript letter jungle was finally accepted by the Austrian Dachs Verlag , which was published in 2003. In the following years she published other children's books and worked on her first youth novel at the same time. However, when, while looking for a suitable publisher, she found that her book did not fit the current requirements of the market, she wrote the manuscript for her first youth thriller Erebos instead , which was published by Loewe Verlag in 2010 .
She lives with her family in the south of Vienna.
