The Federal Commercial Academy and Federal Commercial School Feldbach is a vocational, commercial high and middle school in Feldbach . It is the first and so far only commercial academy in the Styrian political district of Southeast Styria .
history
The Feldbach Business School was founded on January 9, 1943, while the Second World War was still in progress. At the start of school on September 15, 1943, the first school year began for the first grade. The students were taught from 1943 to 1980 in the former "Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Bürgerspittal". The school received its public rights in 1948 and from 1951 had a 1st and a 2nd class. The business school was renamed in 1952; henceforth it bore the name "Municipal Business School with Public Law". In 1956 the school was temporarily closed and Hungarian refugees from the popular uprising were billeted in the building.
The commercial academy was opened in 1965: two classes with 56 students. Construction of the federal school center began in 1975 in Pfarrgasse 6. In 1980 the BHAK / BHAS Feldbach relocated to the federal school center. The largest number of classes in the history of BHAK / BHAS Feldbach was reached in 1990: There were a total of 28 classes with a total of 652 students. The renovation of the federal school center began in 2013. The BHAK / BHAS Feldbach moved back into the newly designed federal school center two years later, in 2015. In the federal school center, there are two other schools, the BORG Feldbach and the HLW Feldbach .
Due to the refugee crisis in Europe from 2015 , many unaccompanied, minor refugees came to Austria. For this reason, a transition class for refugees (BIK) was set up at the BHAK Feldbach in October 2015.

Educational offer of the commercial academy (HAK)
The commercial academy includes a 5-year higher economic education. It ends with the matriculation and diploma examination in the subjects German, a living foreign language, mathematics, the business colloquium, an elective and a diploma thesis. The positive completion of the HAK replaces the entrepreneurship examination, qualifies for all studies and enables direct entry into upscale commercial professions.
In the BHAK Feldbach it is possible to attend a notebook class. Competence-oriented, independent learning (KOEL), a project of the European Union, is also offered at the BHAK Feldbach.

Educational offer of the commercial school (HAS)
The commercial school is a 3-year middle commercial school. It ends with a final examination in German, English, the final thesis, a practice firm, the business colloquium, an elective and a thesis. The positive completion of the HAS replaces the entrepreneur test and is a prerequisite for taking the vocational maturity test or the advanced course to obtain a Matura.
