Federal Association of German Lover Orchestras

The Federal Association of German Lover Orchestras (BDLO) is the umbrella organization for non-professional German symphony , chamber and string orchestras as well as chamber music groups and was founded in 1924.

The BDLO currently has around 823 orchestras . Most member orchestras are organized as independent orchestral associations. Or they are orchestras from larger institutions such as B. University orchestras, music schools or school orchestras and those sponsored by the church.

The BDLO offers members the use of its music collections via an extensive online music catalog.

The association is based in Bonn and sees its purpose as promoting non-profit making music for lovers. It is an umbrella organization for the regional associations of orchestras for lovers of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin-Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Thuringia and the regional association North, Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein includes.

The BDLO publishes the magazine The Lovers Orchestra twice a year for members, music libraries and cultural authorities as well as numerous other recipients at home and abroad .
