The Federal Association of German Swimming Masters eV is a specialist and professional association of German swimming masters, junior staff and other pool staff and aims to promote and represent the interests of the profession. The members work in the baths as lifeguards , swimming master assistants , swimming masters , specialist employees for swimming pools and masters for swimming pools . Tasks and structure

The association organizes sporting competitions for swimming masters and young professionals such as B. the "International German Championships of the BDS eV" and the "North German Championships".

The BDS belongs to the Federal Association for the Promotion of Swimming Training (BFS), German Swimming Association (DSV), Water Rescue Service of the Bavarian Red Cross , German Society for Bathing (DGfdB), German Youth Hostel Association (DJH), Association Internationale des Bains (AIB) and the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS).

Besides the usual advice of BDS courses organized on cardiopulmonary resuscitation , first aid , water rescue , emergency procedures, aqua fitness , scuba diving and water diving . The members' magazine appears monthly. Membership in the association also automatically includes free professional liability insurance that covers personal injury and property damage.
Association's own federal college
The Federal Association of German Swimming Masters has its own federal technical school ( Bundesschwimmmeisterschule ), which is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008. In the industrial city of Wesseling, which lies between Cologne and Bonn, the Federal Association of German Swimming Masters maintains its own federal technical school in the rooms of the federal office.
