The Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand eV (proper spelling BITMi) is the professional association of IT-Mittelstand in Germany . The current president of BITMi is Oliver Grün .

Members

The Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand eV represents the interests of over 2,000 companies with a combined turnover of several billion euros. The association consists of direct members as well as associated regional and professional associations from the IT industry. The members include companies from the software , internet , service and hardware sectors that employ a maximum of 750 people.

aims

As an interest group , the BITMi wants to accelerate corporate growth and the productivity of small and medium-sized IT companies through intensive network formation and drive market development. The BITMi is an association that promotes the exchange of information and the promotion of research and science in information technology as well as the common commercial interests of its members. The main focus is on promoting independent IT SMEs and strengthening Germany as a location.

Furthermore, the Federal Association implements measures to advance the goals in the following fields of action:

  • Political advocacy
  • SME communication
  • Network formation and synergy effects
  • Business projects
  • Standardization and guideline competence through specialist group work
  • Research and development through public funding projects
  • Competitiveness across services & products

Club activities

The association advocates the common interests of the medium-sized IT industry. To this end, the association communicates the interests of medium-sized IT companies to politics, science, business and the public.

The federal association is represented with an office in the capital in Berlin and is accredited by the German Bundestag . The current president, Oliver Grün, is a member of the “Young Digital Economy” advisory board of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy .

The seal of approval Software Made in Germany and Software Hosted in Germany represent the association's offer, with which the quality, stability and reliability of medium-sized software developments can be proven. The association also provides its members with ISO 9001 group certification.

There are currently six specialist groups at BITMi:

The BITMi organizes its own events and in cooperation with its members, associated partners and media partners. The association regularly takes a stand for IT medium-sized companies and publishes press releases, newsletters, interviews and fact sheets as well as the results of the association's own studies.
