The VNN Bundesverband Nachhilfe- und Nachmittagsschulen eV is the only association for institutional tutoring in Germany. He advocates more transparency and reliable quality in tutoring. He also represents the interests of the industry vis-à-vis politics and the public.

Emergence

In 1998 the “Association of Nachhilfeschulen e. V. “founded. It was the first association in the tutoring industry. In 2003 it was renamed the Federal Association of Tutoring and Afternoon Schools. In 2014, the VNN merged with the Federal Association of Owner-Led Nachhilfeschulen (BiN). In 2016 the quality association INA tutoring schools also joined. Since then, all interest groups in the tutoring industry have been united under the umbrella of the VNN, which is the only association in the industry.

In 2018 the name was changed to VNN Bundesverband Nachhilfe- und Nachmittagsschulen eV The headquarters were moved to Staufen im Breisgau. The association is entered in the register of associations at the Freiburg District Court under VR 702397.

aims

One of the main goals is to ensure the quality of institutional tutoring. This is why the VNN has set high quality standards. All members undertake to adhere to the ten-point catalog to ensure quality in tutoring and the VNN's code of honor.

In order to enable verifiable and transparent quality, the VNN advises its members on the introduction of various quality management systems.

Another important focus of the work of the VNN is to contribute to the transparency of the industry. The aim is to make the offers of institutional tutoring for parents and students more transparent and comparable, to give them security and to offer help in deciding on the right tutoring.

activities

The VNN supports its members by helping them to implement the high quality and transparency requirements of their own work. This takes place in the form of working groups, through individual advice to the members, through the exchange of experiences among the members and through internal training. By doing political lobbying and advocating a trustful dialogue between tutoring, schools, politics and business, he increases the acceptance of tutoring and improves the conditions of the local tutoring schools.

The primary concerns of the association's purpose are the tax deductibility of the service , grants and tutors, the fight against the black market and the black market providers , nationwide uniform and clear regulations for the sales tax exemption according to § 4 para. 21 UStG and the implementation of the EU directive on the VAT exemption for educational offers, opportunities for cooperation with the public school system in the afternoon, the lifting of the controversial prohibition of cooperation by the federal and state governments in education policy and advice on political decisions in the education sector to promote educational awareness and to avoid disadvantages for those in need. The VNN has summarized its positions on these issues in its key issues paper.
