Federal Association of Senior Dance

The Bundesverband Seniorentanz eV (BVST) is a non-profit association and a member of the Paritätisches Bildungswerk and the federal working group of senior citizens' organizations . Since the end of 2010, BVST eV has been a recognized professional association in the German Dance Sports Association (DTV) . It has about 6000 members. The seat and the office are in Bremen , the federal chairwoman is Renate Scheidt. The association was founded in 1977.

Goals of the association's work

  • Maintaining and promoting physical and mental mobility of older people through rhythmic and dance movements ( senior dance )
  • Ensuring dance work through training and further education of speakers, senior dance leaders and dance leaders dancing while sitting
  • Development and provision of work material suitable for target groups
  • Exchange and cooperation with other institutions and associations
  • Contact and cooperation with international senior dance associations

Association structure

The federal association is divided into 15 national associations. The federal board and the state boards are elected every three years in the course of the federal assembly or the state assemblies. The members are looked after at the state level in working groups or working groups TiS (dancing while sitting). The election of the working group leaders also takes place every three years. The federal executive board, state executive boards and working group leaderships work on a voluntary basis, as do all the committees working for the association such as advisory boards and project groups.

Individual membership holders receive the membership magazine "Seniors dance" four times a year. You are active and passively entitled to vote at the federal or state assembly. There are other forms of membership such as group, family, and corporate memberships with restricted rights.
