Federal Association of German Registrars

The Federal Association of German Registrars e. V. (BDS), based in Bad Salzschlirf, is the umbrella organization of 17 regional associations / professional associations and, on the one hand, organizes the Academy for Civil Status and the Academy for Citizenship Law and Registration, vocational education and training for those employed in civil status and related areas and, on the other hand, acts as a Representation of the interests of the approximately 30,000 registrars at federal level .

The association is organized under private law and does not receive any state subsidies and is a member of the European Association of Registrars.

On August 11, 1920, the Reich Association of Registrars of Germany was founded, from which this association emerged.

There are 16 regional associations.
