The Federal Association of Civil Servants Veterinarians e. V. (Association of Veterinarians in the public service, abbr .: BbT) is the professional body trade association of public servants (official veterinary service) make veterinarians (a civil servant called and employees) in the Federal Republic of Germany. history

On March 26, 1953, the federal working group of civil servants veterinarians was founded in Remagen . On May 16, 1973, this working group was renamed the Federal Association of Civil Servants Veterinarians . The entry in the register of associations at Lichtenfels District Court, today Coburg District Court, took place on April 20, 1999.

Association and structure

Ordinary members of the federal association are the regional associations in the 16 federal states as well as the community of medical officers veterinarians of the Bundeswehr, through which the veterinarians can organize. The veterinarians make more than 5,500 in the official veterinary service and veterinarians, including in ministries , regional councils , veterinary offices , universities , institutes, testing facilities and animal health services fulfill the tasks of consumer health protection. Board

Association duties

Association work

The BbT annually conducts an international veterinary congress in Bad Staffelstein, a subsequent seminar on problems of international animal and goods traffic as well as day seminars on alternating key topics together with the Center for Veterinary Public Health at the University of Leipzig. The BbT is a member of the European Association of State Veterinary Officers (EASVO), a group within the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) and an observer organization in the Federal Veterinary Association. The BbT publishes the specialist journal “Official Veterinary Service and Food Control ” ( ISSN  0945-3296 ) with Alpha Publishing .
