Lancelot Royle
Sir Lancelot Carrington "Lance" Royle KBE (born May 31, 1898 in the London Borough of Barnet , † June 19, 1978 in London ) was a British sprinter .
At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, he won silver with the British team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . He reached the quarter-finals over 100 m .
As a manager , he led after his athletic career, among others, the retail chain The Home and Colonial Stores. In 1944 he was knighted as Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE).
