The BDSV Federal Association of German Steel Recycling and Disposal Companies e. V., based in Düsseldorf and with an office in Berlin, is the largest steel recycling association in Europe with around 700 member companies .

history

It was founded on October 1, 1997 through a merger of the associations Bundesverband der Deutschen Stahl-Recycling-Wirtschaft e. V. (BDS) from 1952 and the German Scrap / Recycling / Disposal Association e. V. (DSV) from 1953.

tasks and goals

The association represents the interests of German companies or companies active in Germany that are active in the fields of steel recycling and other disposal services. This includes u. a. Representing the profession vis-à-vis ministries, authorities, associations and other professional organizations, membership in supraregional organizations, participation in international issues as well as professional cooperation in various professional associations to implement practical experience in the applicable regulations and guidelines.

activities

With five regional groups and technical committees, the BDSV communicates the current developments internally and negotiates the interests of the member companies externally. The BDSV member companies are regularly informed about recycling activities in Europe, e.g. B. EU Economic Policy, reported. In addition, there is a great deal of member information that reports on the market, prices, legal issues and new technical processes. In addition to holding its own workshops, seminars and congresses, the BDSV represents its member companies at trade fairs and events. The BDSV also represents the members within the framework of European umbrella organizations in Brussels and in worldwide association cooperations.
