Federal Association of Victims of Nazi Military Justice

The Federal Association of Victims of Nazi Military Justice e. V. is a German association that campaigns for the rehabilitation of victims of Nazi military justice (e.g. deserters, conscientious objectors).

The association was founded on October 21, 1990. The purpose of the association was determined to “stand up nationwide for the social rehabilitation and material compensation of the victims of military justice and psychiatry under National Socialism , to promote tolerance in all areas of culture as well as peace and international understanding”. The club is based in Bremen .

When it was founded, an academic advisory board was set up, chaired by the military historian and peace researcher Wolfram Wette since 2012 . The honorary chairman is the lawyer and military historian Manfred Messerschmidt , who was chairman of the advisory board from 1990 to 2012. Ludwig Baumann (1921–2018) represented the federal association in public .

Since its founding, the association has been involved in the legal rehabilitation of deserters and other victims of Nazi military justice . For example, Baumann was one of the invited experts for the Federal Association of the Federal Association of Nazi military justice during the consultation in the Legal Committee of the German Bundestag (126th meeting on April 24, 2002)

As a content and organizational counterpart in Austria , the personal committee “ Justice for the Victims of National Socialist Military Justice should be mentioned.
