Blauenstein Castle

Blauenstein Castle ( Hrad Modrý Kameň in Slovak , Kékkö in Hungarian ) is a hilltop castle from the second half of the 13th century above Veľký Krtíš in the Neusohl Regional Association .

The oldest documented mention of the castle comes from the years 1278 and 1290. In a written mention of the year 1285, Peter Forró is mentioned as the owner. In 1575 the castle was occupied by the Turks, who then further fortified the castle, but with their departure the castle razed . At the beginning of the 17th century, the Balaša began to restore the castle and built a baroque chateau on top of the castle.

Today the castle is a museum of the history and present of the Slovak puppet theater and toys in Slovakia in the 20th century.
