The castle Dschebachan is an Outbound castle in Baku , the close of today's Academy of Sciences was. It is part of a system of fortifications in the city of Baku.
History and components
The walls of the castle and the residential tower were built in the 14th century, and an arsenal was added later. The walls probably formed a square with round bastions at the corners . The residential tower was in the middle of the courtyard and had three to four floors, which were connected by a spiral staircase .
The castle was last noted on a military map from 1806 as the Dschebachan Bastion, where it was rediscovered in the 20th century and examined during subsequent excavations.
