The castle Soldau was a Teutonic castle of the Teutonic Order in the then East Prussian village Soldau today Działdowo . It served as a border castle to Poland.

history

As is customary with Ordensburgen, the building was built on a square base with a side length of approx. 46 m. Farm buildings such as a mill and a brewery were also housed. The castle was damaged in the Battle of Tannenberg in 1410. In 1676 it was renewed in the Renaissance style.

In the First and Second World War it was of Russian and Soviet troops damaged. The southwest wing is still largely original.
