The castle Unna , even in the 17th and 18th centuries as a yard to the kitchen called, is a Grade II listed castle on the northeastern part of the city wall in Unna , Burgstr. 8th.

history

The construction of the castle probably goes to Engelbert III. from the march back in the 14th century. It was structurally changed considerably in the 19th century and has been the seat of the Hellweg Museum since 1936 .

The establishment of local museums was a kind of intellectual counter-movement to the increasingly technologically advanced modern age. The exhibitions in this local history museum, which opened in 1928, range from prehistory and early history through the Middle Ages to the industrialization of the Hellweg region. There are also changing special exhibitions with current references.
